Here is a quick overview of what you need to make these healthy chocolate peanut butter brownies at home:
No Bake Peanut Butter Brownies
- Medjool Dates: Dates are one of nature’s greatest gifts! They’re sweet, plump, and juicy, and you’ll definitely taste the fruitiness in every bite of this cake. Without dates, our peanut butter brownies would fall apart, and it wouldn’t be naturally sweet. I love Medjool dates in particular because they are super juicy and soft, with a caramel-like flavor.
- Peanut Butter: We’re going for a chocolate and peanut butter flavor combo for this recipe, but you can certainly use almond butter or even cashew butter if you’re allergic to peanuts. If you have a complete nut allergy, give sunflower seed butter a try instead.
- Almond flour: Acts as an additional binder, and gives this brownies a nice, soft “cookie dough” texture.
- Cocoa Powder: Of course, our chocolate brownies need to have a chocolate taste, right? That’s where cocoa powder comes in. I highly recommend using Dutch processed cocoa powder for the darkest colored brownies!
Chocolate Spread
- Dark Chocolate Chips: I like using 70% dark chocolate chips for most of my chocolate recipes, because they’re not super sweet in the way that semi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate can be.
- Greek yogurt: Makes our Chocolate Spread super soft and spreadable, without being hard or crunchy. You can omit the Chocolate Spread altogether and just eat the Peanut Butter Brownies on their own, but I highly recommend using the spread!

I just made this and it was delicious and very very decadent! I think the only thing that surprised me was how small the batch was, it did not fill up the loaf pan at all, not even half of it. I’m not sure if it’s because I used a blender instead of a food processor, so maybe it did not breakdown the mix as much. I used a mini loaf pan that’s usually 1 serving. I think next time I might make it into small muffins using my silicon tray. The frosting was yummy, I added walnuts and coconut flakes on top! I’ll definitely make it again. Thank you for the recipe

Thanks for the feedback Lynda! I did not have issues with the batter not filling the pan, but it sounds that your adjustments worked! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
