I love brownies in all its forms and fashions, so when I saw that Naked Nutrition created a new protein brownie mix I just had to be one of the first ones to try it. A quick search through my blog shows that my love for brownies is very, very, very real, as you can see.

As you know, I don’t eat meat, so I’m always looking for new ways to get protein in my diet. And if you tell me that I can get protein by eating dessert…well…I’m sold. Naked Nutrition has come up with a game-changer with this product. It’s packed with high-quality ingredients and each brownie has a generous serving of protein!

Tell me more about Naked Nutrition

Naked Nutrition creates good-for-you supplements made without artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, or mixing agents. It’s kind of crazy to think that those things are so common in most protein powders and supplements, but Naked Nutrition has over 50 different products, and most of them are made with just 3 ingredients or less! Woo!
Check out the Naked Nutrition website to see what other products they offer. I’ve personally got my eyes on the protein cookies and vegan chocolate protein shake next…

Tell me more about the Naked Brownie Mix

Made with premium ingredients, the protein brownie mix creates a soft, chocolatey brownie that also happens to contain 15 grams of protein. It's a win-win dessert that allows you to indulge while giving your body nutrients.

How do you make it?

The instructions for making this protein brownie are right on the packaging. Here’s what it says:

Preheat oven to 350F. Mix 5 servings (265g) to 6-7 fl oz of water and mix thoroughly. Pour batter into an oiled baking pan and bake for 20-25 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes and dig in!

Quick tip from me: Use a kitchen scale to measure 265g and 6-7 fl oz of water, since you can’t do that in a traditional measuring cup. I have a scale so I was able to get the exact measurements needed for these brownies. Many people don’t have a scale in their kitchen, so to help you out here’s what the measurements came out to:

  • 1 ¾ c mix

  • ¾ c water

I mixed this all together in a large bowl and then transferred it to an 8x8 baking pan lined with parchment paper. I like working with parchment paper because it makes clean up a breeze.

I baked my brownies for 20 minutes, and I was surprised by how much they puffed up when baked!

How does it taste?

Ok, so this is what you really want to know…how does the Naked Nutrition Brownie Mix taste?

Friends, my brownies turned out absolutely delicious. If someone served these to me on a plate I would scarf them all down. They don’t taste like a healthy, protein-packed version of brownies. They just taste like brownies. Chocolatey, delicious brownies with mini chocolate chips inside.

I drizzled some melted dark chocolate on top of my brownies to make them pretty, but you can 100% eat these brownies by themselves. I love the idea of serving these brownies at a party or a movie night with friends, and asking them to guess what’s special about them. They taste so good, no one will even know that they’re actually really good for you, too!

Final thoughts

I was pleasantly surprised by how good these protein brownies taste, and I can’t wait to make them again. I think the brownie mix has enough in it for you to make 2 or 3 batches of brownies, which you’re certainly gonna want to do after you have the first one.

So, these brownies taste great, they’re easy to make (literally just add water) and they’re packed with protein, so you can enjoy them guilt-free. The only downside to this brownie mix is that I wish the measurements printed on the packaging were also converted to cups so that you didn’t need to use a kitchen scale.

Would I recommend the Naked Nutrition Brownie Mix to a friend? Absolutely YES. I can’t wait to bring these to a picnic date with friends very, very soon.
