Yield1 serving
Matcha Latte- 2 tsp high quality matcha powder
- 1/4 c hot water
- 1 tsp sweetener (optional)
- 1/2 c milk (traditional or non-dairy)
- Ice
Prepare the matchaPour the matcha powder into a bowl.
Fill a kettle with water, and heat until just under boiling, about 165 F.
Add the hot water into the bowl with the matcha, and use a chasen to whisk the matcha for 1-2 minutes, in a zig-zag pattern, until the matcha is smooth and free of any clumps.
Optional: add 1 tsp of sweetener of choice, and whisk again until it's fully combined with the hot matcha.
Place the matcha in the fridge for about 15 minutes to cool down.
Make the mango pureeMeanwhile, slice each side of ripe mango, just past the seed.
Use a spoon to scoop out the fruit and place it in a food processor. You can use either 1/2 of the mango, or the entire mango, depending on how much mango puree you'd like. I used an entire mango for this recipe.
Blend the fruit until the mango is finely pureed.
Combine for your mango matcha latteScoop the mango puree into the bottom of a tall glass.
Fill the glass with ice.
Pour in the milk.
Top with the prepared matcha.
Stir the matcha and milk together, and enjoy!
