Healthy Homemade Watermelon Sorbet

This easy watermelon sorbet recipe for the Ninja Creami is the perfect way to use up summer's sweetest fruit. Made with fresh watermelon, a splash of lime, and your choice of sweetener, this naturally refreshing dessert takes just a few minutes to put together!

Prep Time15 minutes
Total Time15 minutes
Yield2 pints

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 c seedless watermelon (about 900 g)
  • 1/2 fresh lime (optional)
  • 2-3 tbsp honey (or granulated sugar, optional)
  • 2-4 tbsp milk (sub: non-dairy milk, optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Place the fresh watermelon in a blender.
You may need to work in batches, depending on the size of your blender.
  • Squeeze in the lime and pour in the sweetener, if using.
You can omit the lime if you want your sorbet to be on the sweeter side. Add additional sweetener to taste, but a sweet watermelon will not need it!
  • Blender the mixture until smooth.
  • Divide the mixture between two Ninja Creami pints. Snap on the lids and freeze for at least 24 hours.
  • The next day, process the watermelon sorbet using the "Sorbet" option on the Ninja Creami.
  • The mixture will be crumbly. Place the pint back in the machine and use the "Re-Spin" one or two more times until creamy.
For the creamiest sorbet, add a few tablespoons of milk to the mixture before each "Re-Spin". Technically, this turns it into sherbet!
  • Enjoy!
