INGREDIENTS

Maple Caramel Sauce
  • 1/4 c almond butter (or, sunflower butter)
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil, melted (unrefined)
Take 5 Chocolate Bars
  • 24 pretzels, square or classic shaped (can use gluten free pretzels!)
  • 1/2 c almond butter (or, peanut butter)
  • 1/2 c roasted, unsalted peanuts (or, chopped almonds)
  • 1 c dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp coconut oil (unrefined)
  • Pinch of sea salt, for topping (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

Maple Caramel Sauce
  • Mix all ingredients together in a medium bowl until smooth. Set aside for now.
Take 5 Chocolate Bars
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Place the pretzels on the baking sheet, spacing them out so they aren't touching.
  • Dollop each pretzel with a bit of the almond butter (about 1 tsp), spreading so it covers the pretzel.
  • Next, dollop the maple caramel sauce on top of the almond butter, covering each pretzel with the sauce.
  • Place 2-3 peanuts (or chopped almonds) on top of the caramel.
  • Transfer the baking sheet to the freezer, and freeze for one hour.
  • Meanwhile, melt the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil in microwave, or a double boiler on the stove, until the chocolate is smooth.
If microwaving, be sure to stop and stir the chocolate every 15 seconds to prevent the chocolate from burning.
  • Dip each of the frozen pretzels into the chocolate, coating them on all sides, and placing them back on the baking sheet.
Sprinkle with a bit of sea salt, if using.
  • Freeze the chocolate bars for 20 minutes, until solid. Store in the freezer and enjoy!
